PEOPLE RULE

There’s a lot of discussion about the impact of AI on project management. I think most of the admin-type PM tasks (i.e. scheduling, task/issue maintenance, budgeting, etc.) will be automated by AI but still require some oversight from the PM. However, higher level PM tasks (i.e. stakeholder management, conflict resolution, negotiation, etc.) are much harder for AI to automate and will become a larger part of the project management role. It’s probably time for many project managers to consider if they have a comprehensive skill set or are they just an “admin PM”?
